When the student is ready, the teacher will appear!
I’m enthusiastic for you to get started.
I am going to start by explaining about the three elements that you need to gamble and how when you take one of those elements away – you are no longer able to gamble. It is enough for you to stop or get control of your gambling
Over the following pages I will be giving you the strategies you require, to tackle each one of the three elements of the Gambling Triangle.
I call it ‘The Gambling Triangle’ Time, Money and Access
Video is about the gambling triangle
As I explained in my video, like the Fire Triangle, when you take away one of the elements from the Gambling Triangle – you can no longer gamble!Nuno
Gambling addiction doesn’t have to be a life sentence. A misconception of “I have an addictive personality” might be behind that. Let me tell you that I don’t believe in addictive personalities, I prefer to call them competitive personalities and if used to achieve positive results, it can be fantastic!
Just like the smoker and the drug addict, gamblers often think they need to gamble to relieve their symptoms, however you wouldn’t tell a smoker, who is trying to give up, to have another cigarette!
This is a vicious circle you are in, so its no good thinking that by gambling you are going to get out of it. This behaviour is what got you here in the first place!
So are you ready to change?
Change is not easy, generally speaking we don’t like change. The following are some reasons why you might be choosing to change:
- Your life is in turmoil in particular your finances, relationships and family.
- You’ve had enough of unhappiness, frustration, and negativity.
- You know on a fundamental level that you’re just surviving, not living.
- You’ve been thinking about the dreams you once had.
- You are fed up that you life is on hold.
- You are no longer enjoying this life of gambling.
- Chasing your loses is not working.
- You are beginning to feel an internal desire to do so much more.

What is your Why?
Today’s Task: What is your motivation for change? Take your journal and write down 3 reasons you would like to stop gambling, and the 3 benefits you would get if you stopped today. This has now become your personal WHY!
Having completed the above, and for any other tasks today that require a follow-up, write down the DUE DATE on your calendar.
If this task was for you, then well done!
You’re on the right path to putting a stop to the devastation that gambling has been causing in your life and to those around you.
If you’re rebuilding the trust with those that have been affected by your gambling activities, don’t forget to tell them what you have been doing to stop your gambling. Even better, why not ask them to help and / or witness what you have done and put in place.
